Description: The next session on Stoicism (following previous ones on Meditations, Lives of the Stoics and How to Think Like a Roman Emperor) will cover the key works of Seneca, the 2nd of the 'big three' figures of Stoicism.

Intent of Session: We will continue our foray into the Stoic approach to life by contemplating the practical applicability of Stoic principles to modern day life. We will specifically contemplate Seneca's life as a wildly wealthy advisor to a tyrannical Emperor and assess the extent to which he lived up to Stoic principles especially in comparison to Marcus Aurelius. The goal is to pick up the conversation from previous sessions on Stoicism and go deeper. However, everyone interested is welcome and attendance at previous sessions / familiarity with Stoicism in general is not required.
